Delight

A little girl opens a small box from her grandmother. Inside is a tiny silver bird that sings when you wind it up. Her eyes grow wide, her mouth opens into a huge smile, and she hugs the box tightly. Delight means to give someone great pleasure or joy. Enchant, by contrast, means to fill with wonder or magic, as if under a spell, often more intense and mysterious. So, delight focuses on simple, warm, and happy pleasure. Enchant focuses on magical, captivating wonder that feels almost unreal. In other words, a delicious meal delights you; a fairy’s song enchants you.
